Cage-free eggs are produced by hens that are not confined in cages, unlike traditional egg-laying practices. These hens are allowed to roam in an open barn or covered enclosure, providing them with more space and the opportunity to engage in natural behaviors such as walking, nesting, and spreading their wings. This method is considered more humane and animal-friendly compared to conventional caged systems.
